Goodbye's Aren't Easy!

This past week Daniel and I had to say goodbye to 3 dear friends that hold a special place in our hearts! It's been almost a week since we said goodbye, and I might say it has flown by (probably because we were at the beach!).
this was at Ryan & Sam's going away party...notice our eyes are red :(
Hugging Deena goodbye...
Giving Theresa a goodbye huge too!

The crazy thing is that they are all three moving to the same place, so that means when we go out to visit in October, we can just make our rounds :)

(new post below)

Another Welcome!

Welcome to the blogging world Shaffer (my brother) and Lindsey (my soon-to-be sister in law)! They wanted to keep up with their new house and all the renovations that are being done, wedding parties, the big day, and much more! Go check it out if you get a chance :)

P.S. We are back from the beach trying to unwind and get back into the swing of things. I will post more pics when I get a chance! I am super excited about this weekend because it is Shaffer & Linds engagement party at the LAKE! More sun & fun for us this weekend...CAN'T WAIT!!

The Joys of Marriage

I must say that in the short year and almost 10 months Daniel and I have been married, I have learned a lot about myself (and him). Marriage has shown me that I don't like wrinkles in my clothes, i have a particular way of hanging my clothes in my closet and the direction they should be hung in. i have way to many shoes, Daniel's shoes/clothes take up much more room than mine, since I am "smaller" i only get 40% of the bed where he gets 60% (he says he is generous to me) and much more :)

One thing that has become very apparent to me from being married is that I have a problem with closing things (and I mean in relation to food). Here's what I mean... My sweet husband went to the grocery store by himself on Sunday and thought to get me some Oreo's while he was there. I was so happy when he got home, I basically dove into them. After eating...well...to many, I thought I "properly" sealed them back. BUT as I bit into one last night (in need of a sugar rush) I was dismayed at how stail it was! Ah...I really do have a problem with closing things and shouldn't deny it every time Daniel says something about it to me :)

Do you have any interesting/funny things marriage has taught you? (doesn't matter how long you have been married either!)

My Lunch Dates :)

(Deena, Lynn, Ashely, Theresa, & Me)
Tomorrow will be a very hard day for Daniel and I.  We have to say goodbye to 3 dear friends of ours, and the reality is, this will be goodbye for a long long time.  I can barely write these words without dripping tears from my eyes on the keyboard.  We have made many wonderful memories, and Daniel has gained a best friend for life :)  It is sad because it is the closing of one chapter, but at the same time beginning a new!

On a "HAPPIER" note...we leave for the beach with my family on Thursday morning bright and early!  This will hopefully take our minds off of the goodbyes we just spoke of!  Spending time with family while hearing the waves crash on the shore is what i'm talking about!

Date Night...

Ok this part has nothing to do with our date night but look at our baby...she is so sweet! Sleeping under the bed..her favorite!
Tonight was our date night...we had a blast!
We spent our evening at CPK for some yummy dinner which Daniel enjoyed the sweet and spicey italian sausage pizza, and I chowed down on their field of green's salad with grilled chicken.  We also had humus as an appetizer which was delicioso!

After our fabulous dinner, we stopped by Best Buy to check out there camera's (I think were gonna purchase a new one sometime before our big move with a sweet lens...or something like that...this is just what Daniel tells me :)).  Then we went to my most favorite store ever...TARGET!  While at target, we purchased the new Mario Cart for our wii...this very moment I am typing this post, Daniel is enjoying this game to the fullest!
Finally on our way home we stopped by my parents house, because my o so precious mother spent her day preparing all kinds of goodies for the couple's shower tomorrow for our dear friends Tim & Stephanie...can't wait!  Ok now i'm off to bed because I have an early start tomorrow...I'm in a puppet skit in front of the whole church...yikes

The First of MANY...

(Warning...Random thoughts ahead!) I have FINALLY completed my first scarf. You might recall that a sweet friend taught me to knit a few months back. I began a project and honestly did not want to finish it half way through because I got sick of looking at the color of it, BUT I told myself i was going to finish it...and so I did!

I learned something today that seems so basic, but it really hit me hard...LIFE IS NOT ALWAYS EASY. Sometimes it really STINKS! It is not fun to see people you really care about go through painful situations and you feel so helpless because really there is nothing you can say or do to make them feel better or make the pain go away!

On another note, tonight Daniel and I are spending some time watching LOST from the very beginning (first season that is). We wanted to see what all the excitement was about...I must say the show is good!  So we have plugged the desk top computer into our new TV (Daniel got for his birthday a couple of weeks ago) and watch it over the internet. See picture below...

coming soon...My workout "Secrets".

How Great is Our God!

Daniel and I have been praying for a while that a little part time job would come along for him to take on while full time support raising...and it did! He is now taking pictures for his brother who is a photographer. The flexible hours work perfectly for Daniel, and he gets to spend some time with Andrew (his older brother). Thank you Lord for supplying for all our needs, even when our faith is very small or not there at all!

Who would have thought?

I went shopping for work the other day, and as I began to whip my car into one of the parking spaces, I noticed this sign...

When did they start having reserved parking for expectant mothers?...not that I am against this at all because I am not...it was just my first encounter with one. Then, while in Minnesota last week, Daniel and I went to the Mall of America and ran into one of these again! I didn't even know there was such a thing...maybe they are new or I am just not that observant!

In other news, we celebrated Daniel's 25th birthday this past week (since we were driving home on his actual bday). We enjoyed a yummy dinner from SUMO followed by cake and presents at home...it was so nice to celebrate!  Here is a picture from our night...and of course Madie had to be in it! =)

Say Cheese...

We did! (ok maybe we didn't say those actual words but you get the point =)) Here is our new photo for the 2008 Directory at our church. Last time they did this was in 2005...when I was not a Davis yet, so our pictures are not only out dated, but also we aren't even married so separate! We were glad to update (only 2 years late!)

YAY..now sleep!!

Our Church Planting Class:

We have officially completed our Church Planting class..whoo!  Don't get me wrong, it was an experience where the knowledge that was gained will be used throughout the rest of our lives...we are just pooped with a 17 hour drive ahead of us.

Its weird how just sitting in a room while someone teaches for 8 hours can wear you out.  I mean we did NOTHING active and honestly my body is craving exercise!!!  I look forward to being home and getting back into my usual exercise routine with a healthy mix of cardio and lifting weights...it does the body good :).  And of course the food was fabulous...but not the most healthy i might say, so I also look forward to eating a bit more healthier when I get home :)

I think we are tired also because of all the "thinking" we have done...good thinking that is. Praise God for a wonderful experience and all we learned that will better prepare us for the BIG field we have ahead of us!

Well that's it for us...we're off to bed!
