Busy weekend!

This weekend seemed jammed packed with fun things (which I don't mind one bit). We had our usual small group friday night.

Then on Saturday myself and a friend, Emily, were showered with love for our upcoming baby boys. Honestly I did NOT expect such showering, but I have to say it was wonderful.

The shower was a bee themed--too adorable!

These quilts were handmade and absolutely adorable. This is something I KNOW I will cherish.
The hostess, Jennifer, who is a dear friend knows me so well and got these adorable monogrammed burp cloths. LOVE LOVE LOVE THEM!
The mommies with our sweet hostess.
And here we are...34 & 31 weeks with our second boys!

And no party is complete without big brother's and friends.
Feeling so very blessed!

Then today we had our church wide picnic enjoying the great outdoors. Letting Eli run around in HUGE enclosed (for the most part) space is like a dream. Being cooped up for the winter/spring was miserable, so we try and take advantage of being outside.

These two are BIG BUDDIES even if they do tackle/wrestle each other :)

And today I am officially 7 months pregnant (and starting to really feel it). 2 short months away from welcoming our second son!

Pictures from the past

So I am doing a little "project" for my mom which involves looking through the last couple of years in pictures. As I have been spending a good bit of time trying to find all of our shots (I thought we were better organized than this--you would think we would be since we are photographers you know!) Anyways, I have come across some pretty funny one's and some just I thought to share. I am sure in the midst of all the chaos, I have forgotten to share these. So here are some pictures of 2009 & 2010. I haven't gotten very far in my picture searching because as you can see, Eli is still a little man in these ;)

in no particular order except for how they uploaded onto picasa....

For starters, please look close at this one. Notice the nice "newborn" poo poo running down my sweet hubby's shirt :) Nothing says first time parent than this!

cracking me up!
This is what you call a "no one is ready for the family photo picture"
say wha??

busted out laughing when I saw this beauty

my honest thought when I saw this last picture "will I ever be this size again?"--not going to lie

More picture searching is in my future.

Can I?

Can I please stop and take this moment to show you that we actually got a family photo today while with friends. And a half way decent one at that! Living away from family (who typically takes our pictures), we haven't taken a good one of us in a long while. Too bad you can't see Caleb but I am happy with it =)

and of course what's a post without having a picture or two of E-man!

30 weeks!

That means 10 more left (if that!) Eeek, you mean I will be holding, squeezing, kissing--soaking up newborn noises in just a short time? I couldn't get enough of Eli at that age. Sure I was sleep deprived and remember crying to Daniel that I JUST. COULDN'T. DO. IT! But we survived and I can honestly say I am so looking forward to meeting sweet Caleb.

I would be okay if he came 5 to 6 days early BUT I am not getting my hopes up. We went ahead an bought Eli his birthday gift--to go see THOMAS! But SHHH you can't tell him! It is a surprise. The trip is 6 days before I am due. I know, I know...what were we thinking? We really wanted to take him and worse case someone else can go (although I really would like to see his expression!)

I have a feeling these next 10 weeks will fly by. I want to enjoy Eli and spend as much time as a family of 3 before we become a family of four!

Every Pregnancy IS Different...

Oh how many times I have been told this already throughout this pregnancy. I am learning every pregnancy really is different.

While pregnant with Eli, I had more time to sleep and be on my own. I had more time to watch what I ate and had ample of opportunity to exercise/lift weights. I had absolutely NO nausea the whole time up until right before I delivered (I think that is because everything was preparing for the big day). Even though I did work 40 hours while pregnant with him, the setting was different and more relaxed.

Now with Caleb I feel like exercise is when we can squeeze it in, and there really is NO time for lifting. I will say with Eli I ran the same course every day and it was 2.35 miles (it had some serious hills). With Caleb I have been able to run further. Most days we run 4+ miles (some days we stick to 3), so I feel like in a way that makes up for the lifting I am not able to do. Also with Caleb I had slight nausea (not bad or enough to complain about) for a few days. I haven't seemed to feel all around as good as I did with Eli, but I blame that on having a toddler--wait scratch that--a very, VERY active toddler that keeps me on my feet. I also have had a little swelling that did NOT happen with Eli. While at work in my desk, I prop my feet up and it seems to help. I feel like Caleb is even more active than Eli ever was in my tummy. If that is foreshadowing anything...well then we will have our hands full--very FULL with two active boys. As far as weight gain goes, I gained 26 lbs with Eli. So far with Caleb I have gained 19 lbs. BUT I did start out 6 lbs smaller with Caleb than with Eli.

Anyways, here's to hoping the deliveries are rather similar. I'd even be okay if this one was even quicker than the last!

Hello Again!

I told you I would be back sooner than my last blogging hiatus.

I am now remembering what it feels like to NOT work over 40 hour weeks. As of today Daniel started summer school which means more time for me and my little rugrat to snuggle, play with trains and say "weeeeeee" every time we go down the slide (Eli loves that for some reason ;)). I have to say time with him makes my heart full.

So this blog really doesn't have much direction. I think that is okay. It will be me rambling with pictures to entertain you (hopefully).

Speaking of Daniel's schooling...get this. In just 2 (yes I said 2!!) semesters he will be done and will receive his Master of Divinity--SO CRAZY! After this summer he will have 29 hours of class left. My husband loves school and rightly so because well he is pretty gifted. Not to mention very disciplined. But I can begin to see the wear and tear of constant going going going. I think he will be delighted to finish!

Lets see. In other news I have two "sprinkles" coming up in less than a month. Sweet friends at our church up here are throwing us our first shower for Caleb.

r

Honestly I did not expect a shower much less a sprinkle this time around, so I was overwhelmed by the generosity. All we are asking for is diapers, wipes and creams. We have everything else. A huge blessing of having another boy in my opinion!!!

Um can I just say how cute my little man's legs are--thunder thighs and ALL! Daniel and I joke all the time that our kids are doomed to have thunder thighs. Daniel has really muscular legs (not typical man chicken legs) and I...well have big ole thighs too!

Okay got a little off subject...back to my other sprinkle.

My dear high school friends (and sister) are throwing me a sprinkle in my home town. Seriously, I feel a little spoiled. I get to eat, spend time in the company of so many I love and celebrate the arrival of this new life the Lord has given us. Geez does it get better?

Here's proof that my belly button is beginning to poke out again...

lets see, lets see...what else? This little guy will be here in almost less than 10 weeks. I think one big brother is eager, OR maybe he has no clue, but likes to kiss my belly when told to--haha.

Okay I feel like this is going no where...sorry. I. am. getting. sleepy! I had an alarm clock (aka Eli) go off at 5:30am this morning!

So here's my view for the next 10ish weeks (only to get bigger).

Thanks to my sweet hubby for being the photographer behind *most* of these pictures.

I will leave you with my 29 weeks and 3 days picture:

nite nite
