the marathon

We have been talking about it for awhile now and have decided to actually do it. Yes, we are going to run a marathon!!  Depending on when God provides our mission support, we are planning on doing the Chicago Marathon on October 10th of this year (but we would be TOTALLY happy if our support came in and we left before then!)

We started back running today.  It has been awhile since either one of us has run consistently.  So, we started with a quick 3 mile in order not to bite off more than we could chew.  It felt really good to get out there, even though it was in the 20's.  There is something about running that...well in the moment it sometimes is difficult and we feel the need to quit but the feeling we get afterwards is always worth it!!

We have added a section to our blog called the marathon at the top.  We hope to update it often (daily) with updates on our training and tips we learn along the way.

Coming Soon!!! We are also working on adding a section to the blog for COUPONING (for all you ladies and gentleman who are interested!) and frugal living so look for that soon!

**oh and we wanted to say if any of our other running buddies want to join us WINK WINK...you know who you are for the marathon and for a visit please let us know :)**

Eli's ready for his run today!

score!

so i have been waiting for today. okay not really but i was pleasantly surprised when i opened my mailbox daniel brought the mail inside to find that my request on facebook was answered! you see a couple of weeks back Oreo put up this page that on a certain day at a certain time you could get a free bag of the new Golden double stuf Oreo cookies.  if you didn't read that right i said FREE!!  then today Kraft First Taste had a deal where if you are a member then you can get a FREE box of Double Stuf Oreo Cakesters! Turns out I must have been a bit late, but I did get a $1.00 coupon.  My grocery store had these on sale for 2/$4.00 so i bought 1 for $2.00 & used my coupon. OOP I paid $1.12 :) that's my kind of deal!!

***NEW POST BELOW***

the deal-e-o

so i know you are waiting and waiting (or at least some of you have expressed that to me) and I am working on compiling my thoughts in a way to share them with you! please be patient. i promise it is coming! but in the mean time i will leave you with my shopping for this week.  I went well over our normal budget, but the deals this week on diapers were WAY to good to pass up (all you mommies out there know), so i thought why not stock up now!
Here is everything together:

Total before coupons, gc, ecb's & rr: $178.38 + tax
WHAT I PAID after coupons, gc, ecb's & rr: $58.37 + tax & i got $5.00 in ecb's back!!
that is a huge savings!!
The 2 things that were not on sale nor did i have a coupon for was OJ & eggs.  the hubby LOVES oj so much so i had to get it...right?!?!  Up here for some crazy reason OJ is $2.38 per container which if my memory serves me correct is less than the south!  Okay i don't have time to break up each total, but i did take pictures of what i bought from each store. i will highlight a couple of deals i couldn't pass up!

WALMART:
milk was on sale for $1.98

CVS:
I got 5 boxes of wheat thins (one box is not pictured) for .40 a piece!!!

TARGET:
okay i paided .02 for each oatmeal cup!! & $3.99 per pack of diapers (which are regularly $12.99)

WALGREENS:
i also paid $3.99 per pack of diapers that are regularly $12.99!!

So there are my good GREAT deals i got at the stores this week.  please keep coming back!  I want to show you how to save $$ so stay tuned :)
